This Large Format Moove Acoustic Slider™️ , in clear laminated glass and with frame finish Dulux Charisma Black, is ideal for providing acoustic-controlled connectivity through rooms where a maximum throughput of people of people are required.

These sliding partition glass doors offer effortless movement without any floor tracks. This slider includes a special track and trolley system uniquely designed for this product, which translates into a system that is not only quiet, but glides effortlessly across its opening.

Moove has underdone rigorous acoustic testing at the new, large format facility at UTS in Sydney, where it achieved certified results of Rw30, Rw33, and Rw34 acoustic performance – enough to meet most acoustic specifications.

The Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation (trading as DJAARA) and its enterprises have moved to a new Corporate and Community Centre . Located at 43 Hattam Street, Golden Square, the Centre is a permanent base for Dja Dja Wurrung People to practice, strengthen and share Culture, as well as office space for around 100 staff.

Larnangurrak is also a venue for arts and Cultural events, and a multi-purpose space that can be used by other businesses and the wider public in future.

Builder Searle Bros selected Bildspec to supply both Series 100 Operable Walls and Glazed Acoustic Sliders at the new centre. A Series 100 Rw46 Centre Stacking Wall was supplied to divide a large conference space into two smaller spaces as required.

Designed by Y2 Architecture , 2 x Moove Rw34 Glazed Acoustic Sliders (large format) were installed to seamlessly link the staff lounge, foyer and conference spaces and facilitate maximum opening sizes required for the thoroughfare of a large no of people. These Sliders including provide offset handles for DDA access and compliance.

Bildspec Operable Walls were recently tasked by Executive Interior Projects to fulfill the design brief by Architect/Designer Facilitate which included installing a fully customised series of movable acoustic wall panels to create a collaborative space within CrowdStrike’s North Sydney offices.

The finished product included a remote stacking operable wall with a DDA compliant glazed , jamb-hung pass door and custom-designed 135-degree meeting post, included to allow the wall to follow the desired path and thus enhance/maximise the space within the meeting area whilst at the same time preserving acoustics.

Operable walls are widely utilised in aged care facilities for one of two primary reasons - firstly to facilitate space adaptability for administrators (meeting and leisure activities). Bolton Clarke Willowdale, through builder Lipman , has installed Bildspec operable acoustic walls in meeting rooms and leisure spaces to give them greater flexibility with space requirements as needed. Rooms can easily be made larger or smaller through the use of operable walls whilst retaining acoustic and privacy requirements of the various spaces. The movable acoustic wall panels have fixed top sweep seals and bottom mechanical retracting seals and are finished in Woven Image Mura for their pleasant aesthetic and strong acoustic control qualities.

Canobolis Clinic at Bloomfield Hospital in Orange NSW is a long stay mental health rehabilitation unit for the elderly. It includes a community care unit with a patient treatment room. The clinic installed a Bildspec Series100 movable acoustic wall panels in the treatment room enabling the room to be divided into two smaller treatment rooms depending on the number of nursing staff available at the time to deliver treatment to patients, and the amount of space required depending on the nature of the treatment itself.

Bildspec have installed a suite of Series 100 operable walls for builder AMA Projects at the NetApp office based at Canberra Airport. These acoustic folding doors have been installed according to specification by leading architect IA design , running between various meeting rooms, as well as between the entire meeting room space and the adjacent external corridor.

One wall includes a floating double-glazed expanding panel fixed to an inset pass door, with custom multi-meeting post, which enables the wall to turn at a right angle and yet still provide entry access, including a separate panel for through-visibility. One side of each wall is finished with Woven Image Mura while the other side has a raw MDF finish.

Bildspec’s acoustic folding doors have enabled NetApp to turn an open space adjacent to a pedestrian corridor into a large, acoustically controlled private meeting space, or further into multiple, smaller meeting spaces as required at the time. Bildspec’s operable walls allow a limited transfer of sound from the external corridor into the meeting space ensuring privacy and speech legibility.

Ideagen CompliSpace (IC) delivers industry leading SaaS solutions for High Impact Organisations in Highly Regulated Industries to ensure they meet their GRC obligations.

Wool + Hay Architects required an innovative solution to be able to divide IC’s large format meeting space into two, acoustically controlled separate meeting areas, while at the same time allowing maximum light transfer from the external, creating an open, airy feeling.

Accordingly, Bildspec were chosen by fitout specialist Scope Projects to install both a Konnect Double Glazed and a Series 100 solid operable wall at IC’s Surry Hills, Sydney office, in a T-intersecting format, thus allowing light transfer through the glass wall and creating the potential divide between meeting rooms with the solid wall.

Apart from creating a flexible space, operable walls are movable acoustic walls, which are able to greatly reduce a significant amount of external noise from passing through the operable wall into each of the divided spaces. This reduction of sound is measured in Rw (Weighted Sound Reduction Index). Different combinations of top/bottom seals and board constructions are crucial in the wall’s ability to overcome sound transmission issues. The Konnect and Series 100 Solid walls installed for IC have Rw ratings of 48 and 49 respectively, sufficiently high enough to achieve the desired level of privacy.

Bildspec Operable Walls has installed a Series 100 Rw47 Operable Wall for Abacus Group at their modern commercial office building at 99 Walker Street, North Sydney .

The acoustic office partition wall was installed on behalf of builder Girvan Group and based on the design specification stipulated by interior architecture and design firm Hot Black . Bildspec were called upon to assist Hot Black with the final design of the operable wall and the required supporting headwork. This was required due to substantial issues around the existing mechanical ducting which needed to be overcome. Bildspec were chosen because of their proven expertise in overcoming similar mechanical and structural issues in the past.

Operable walls are movable acoustic office partitions which assist in the creation of spaces that are adaptable and functional. Bildspec’s operable walls are often utilised to allow clients greater flexibility with their office spaces, through the creation of meeting rooms, board rooms, breakout rooms and multipurpose break out spaces. Bildspec Operable Walls were selected by workplace strategy, design, and building company, PMG, to provide the sophisticated acoustic office partition requirements for Dual’s new Sydney Head Office.

Bildspec installed 2 x Konnect Double Glazed Rw48 Side Stacking operable walls meeting at a corner and enabling the client to create an acoustically controlled meeting space within their breakout area or, when folded back to give a clear, open and usable space for play and collaboration. Bildspec designed and custom-engineered a mobile corner post to allow both plains of the double-glazed office partition to be folded back as intended.

Bildspec installed a Series 100 Rw52 Remote Stacking Operable Wall to divide two meeting rooms where required, or allow the client the option of a larger presentation space as needed. High acoustics were chosen here to give the required speech privacy for the meeting rooms’ intended confidential usage.

Bildspec Operable Walls has installed two Series 100 Rw49 moveable office partition walls to JC’s George St, Sydney Head Office. These centre stacking operable walls with mechanical retracting bottom seals were specified by architect M Moser Associates whilst the office build was completed by boutique fit out and refurbishment company Metem .

Bildspec worked very closely with M Moser Associates on the job to create the perfect solution to fulfill the design intent by giving the end user the maximum flexibility for the multi-use area which spanned a large meeting room and common staff area.

Apart from creating a flexible space, these movable office partition walls are able to greatly reduce a significant amount of external noise from passing through the operable walls into each the meeting and common areas when the wall is engaged. Different combinations of top/bottom seals and board constructions are crucial in the wall’s ability to overcome sound transmission issues.

Bildspec have installed 3 operable walls to the main meeting areas at RFDS’s Sydney Head Office. This includes one Series100 Rw49-rated solid, and two Konnect double-glazed moveable acoustic walls, all with bottom mechanical retracting seals.

These three movable acoustic walls have been designed by builder/designer PMG Group , as an intersecting wall system to give the clients the ability to have two medium sized boardrooms, or one large boardroom, or a combined presentation space including the adjacent lounge area (once all walls have been retracted and fully opened). An acoustic rating of Rw49 was chosen to give the RFDS the required privacy required for these rooms.

Bildspec Operable Walls has installed a stunning, Series 100 Rw45 Operable Wall, for food retailer, Guzman Y Gomez (GyG), at their Kippax St, Surry Hills NSW Head Office.

GyG is an Australian multinational retail casual-dining and fast-food restaurant chain and is on a mission to become the biggest and best retail food business in the world. It specialises in high-quality, fresh, clean, Mexican-inspired food.

The operable wall, installed for builder MPA Constructions , included a complicated, custom-designed graphic by GYG and the designer, The Bold Collective. Printed on 3M film and applied on site after panel installation, Bildspec were able to ensure the best possible graphic match from panel to panel. GyG have worked hard to ensure that their brand is authentic to its core, with every detail being carefully thought out and meticulously presented. Consequently, Bildspec was chosen because of their intricate knowledge in dealing with such complex designs and pattern matching. The end result was a great success and reflected true to GyG’s brand aspirations.

The purpose of the wall was to divide two training rooms while allowing an acoustic division between the rooms. The walls therefore allow GYG the flexibility to open both rooms into one larger space when required. Flexible Learning Spaces

Open-plan learning spaces have now been labelled unsuitable for learning, as the NSW and Victorian government now look to construct “flexible learning spaces”, which allow for open-plan rooms to be segmented with soundproof walls. At the same time the Grattan Institute has called for a statewide audit of public schools to identify and fix the problem of open-plan classrooms.

Open-plan classrooms, where dozens of students get together to learn in one large room, were popularised in the 1970s as a collaborative approach for learning. A University of Melbourne study on the effect of classroom environments on literacy development found some students showed slower rates of literacy acquisition when learning in open-plan classrooms. This was particularly evident in students with weak listening or attention skills.

But many schools have now started to adapt their buildings with soundproof sliding walls to create smaller areas, known as flexible learning spaces.

The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) processes applications for admission to most undergraduate courses at participating institutions (mainly located in NSW and the ACT).

Bildspec recently installed two operable walls at UAC’s ultra-sleek Head Office at River Boulevarde, Rhodes. The installation consists of a Series 100 Konnect Double Glazed remote stacking operable wall (Rw48) with inset pass doors and 3-way multi meeting post, which runs perpendicular to another Series 100R (solid) operable wall (Rw52) separating two meeting rooms.

The purpose of these office partitions is to separate the two meeting rooms (Training/Board Room space) from the greater lounge reception area, and to further allow an acoustic division between the training and board rooms. The office partitions were designed by builder Crest Office Interiors to give the client the flexibility to open up all areas into a full entertainment area whilst also giving the higher acoustic rating that the 52 affords the boardroom. The Sports Park houses a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility, an elite performance space and world-class sporting facilities to support major sports events.

Sports Park is also the new home of the Matildas in Victoria, and has been used as the training base for the Matildas ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Bildspec have installed a Series 100 , Remote Stacking operable wall for builder MPA Construction , at the Victorian Head Office of leading Australian recruitment firm Robert Walters .

The brief from the architect, IA design , was a Rw45 acoustic rated movable acoustic wall located between the reception area and a multi-purpose break-out room for Robert Walter’s staff.

The operable wall was designed to make the entire reception area space adaptable and functional whereby it’s dividing panels could be opened up to connect the waiting room and break-out spaces into a larger space, or closed to create a private space with acoustic separation for assembling staff.

The moveable acoustic wall installed includes a full height, double glazed pass door, fixed top sweep seals and bottom mechanical retracting seals. One side of the wall was finished with Navurban Balmoral and the other side Instyle fabric in colour Arpora Chameleon.

Bildspec’s acoustic operable walls assist in the reduction of both acoustic transmission and energy consumption making them practical and environmentally friendly.

A Bildspec Series 100 Rw52 Acoustic Operable Wall has recently been installed at Deakin University (Melbourne Burwood Campus). The university was looking for a replacement operable wall for its HD Building that was simple and easy to operate in order to quickly and easily be able to vary teaching spaces to suit different size requirements as they were required.

Operable Walls improve the effectiveness of learning spaces by ensuring that they are adaptable to accommodate small or large groups; include learning centres with flexible spaces that allow students to learn in a variety of settings, and provide opportunities to enhance skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

The university’s HD Building is a three-story building within the campus which houses a food court, several restaurants, a function room and two multipurpose rooms. The level 3 function room needed an operable wall system which could be utilized to provide various sized classes or conference type events within the shared space.

The architect, Tall Architects , set strict design requirements for this project where the acoustic wall needed to:

· Allow the layout for two large learning spaces to be easily changed by one person, at least 10 times per week, and

· Provide very good acoustic insulation, and

· Meet current design standards for educational facilities and demonstrate a commitment to delivering accessibility by adopting the principles of Universal Design, and

· Support the university’s teaching and learning agenda by providing innovative premium located learning spaces

Bildspec Operable walls have recently completed a rollout of operable wall installations for 5 Victorian Schools forming part of the Victorian School Building Authority New Schools building program. The head contractor for these works is Hutchinson Builders .

Bildspec was selected from many tenderers to provide for the acoustic operable wall requirements (as specified by project architect ARM Architecture ) relating to the construction works at Lollypop Creek Primary School, Riverdale East Primary School, Tarneit Missen House Primary School, Warringa Special School and Rockbank Murray Road Primary School.

Loreto Secondary School at Normanhurst utilises Bildspec’s Collaborative Panels (movable acoustic walls) to enhance the ever-changing, dynamic learning spaces in their classrooms.

Bildspec installed these acoustic moving walls for the head contractor, Urban Fitouts , in conjunction with the Architect on the project, Allen Jack + Cottier .

These Bildspec Series 100 panels float around the desired teaching area along an overhead tracking system enabling educators to modify the learning space depending on the class attendance or desired learning outcomes.

Apart from being clad with Vitreous Enamel Magnetic Whiteboards for teaching, these movable acoustic walls have a perforated acoustic veneer top and bottom to absorb sound and reduce reverberation. Note that there are many face finishes that can be used on the surface of each operable wall to improve the NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient)/reverberation acoustic quality of the space through sound absorption. This enhances speech intelligibility which greatly enhances the learning experience.

Each panel has an integrated locking foot on each side to stabilise the panel in its required position so that they can be written on without moving.

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is Australia’s regulator for heavy vehicles . They are headquartered in Brisbane and employ more than 470 people across Australia. They were established in 2013 as a statutory authority to administer one set of laws – the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) – which applies in all Australia's states and territories except the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Marist Sisters' College , Woolwich is an independent Roman Catholic single-sex secondary day school for girls, located in Woolwich, a Lower North Shore suburb of Sydney.

Bildspec recently installed two, parallel, 4m high operable walls at the front of the school’s 120-seat working drama theatre. This theatre provides sound and lighting for student performances and showcases, but also doubles as a modern dance studio with Tarkett flooring, ballet barres and mirrors.

The folding doors installed have multiple functions. Firstly, they allow the school to divide the large dance studio space into two smaller dance studios while preserving the acoustic integrity of each space. Secondly, it accommodates the enlargement or reduction of the stage performance area in the theatre, depending on the nature of the particular performance production.

Operable Walls Provide Flexibility for Church Facilities

Bildspec’s operable walls are often utilised to allow church’s greater flexibility with their banquet and entertainment spaces, through the creation of any size room required, to cater for the needs on the day. One space can be turned into multiple, smaller spaces, and vice versa. Operable walls allow a limited transfer of sound from the external space into the smaller individual space.

The Newcastle Knights’ new $20 million Centre of Excellence at District Park, Broadmeadow, NSW, was officially opened in March 2022.

The Centre provides a high-performance training, administration and community facility for the identification, development and fostering of rugby league talent in the Hunter.

It includes three full-sized training fields, a state-of-the-art gym, multipurpose community and function area, theatrette and players’ lounge, rehabilitation space and office areas, and precinct walking and cycle path. Designed by EJE Architecture , the project was efficiently built by Richard Crookes Constructions .

The Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus recently installed a Bildspec double-glazed glass operable wall in their library to acoustically separate the Learning Centre from the main library.

The specification put out by NSW Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning called for “Sound Proofing of Library” including the procurement and installation of metal framed glass operable folding doors.

The folding doors Sydney installed is a centre stacking glass operable wall and includes a full-height pass door with a lever handle. The folding door is double-glazed and available in 100mm profile. Bildspec Operable walls have completed another quality installation for School Infrastructure NSW at Clemton Park Public School . Bildspec installed a Series 100 Rw45 Centre Stacking Operable Wall between two class rooms to allow both class rooms to be able to operate simultaneously without unwanted sound transmission passing between the two.

In learning spaces, unwanted noise in class rooms is detrimental to the learning outcome due to reduced speech intelligibility, and it comes most often from the intrusion of external noise; noise transferred between individual spaces including impact noise; and control of reverberation times to enhance speech intelligibility.

Coogee Legion Ex-Service Club recently added a new function area, designed by Axil Architects , to the second level of its glamourous seaside Coogee venue. With sweeping vistas onto Coogee beach and out to the ocean, the new restaurant and function area, complete with bar, will play host to a wide variety of future functions including parties, conferences, weddings etc.

This new area is adjacent an existing function area and bar which posed an interesting acoustic challenge to the venue operators – how to have two potentially raucous function areas situated side-by-side operating simultaneously while at the same time controlling the level of noise spilling over into each area.

Rockdale Public School Light Up Their Learning Spaces with Bright Operable Wall Colours

Rockdale Public School has installed a Bildspec Acoustic Operable wall at their school on behalf of School Infrastructure NSW . Bildspec installed the Series 100 Rw45 Centre Stacking Operable Wall between class rooms to allow class rooms to be able to operate simultaneously without unwanted noise passing between the two.

The operable wall panels were finished in an Autex Composition face finish, with inset, vitreous enamel whiteboards both sides. Autex Composition is a high-performance acoustic wallcovering with a rich colour and soft yet durable polyester fibre finish. The hook-and-loop receptive pile and pin-able self-healing surface lends itself to creative and education focused spaces — the school chose colours Granny Smith for one side and Phantom for the other – bright, dynamic colours to promote budding ideas and visual expression.

Children spend a lot of time in classrooms and it’s estimated that the majority of this time is spent trying to comprehend their teachers’ and classmates’ speech. Environments where it is difficult to hear can lead to students becoming disconnected and struggling to focus. This in turn can impact their cognitive development, reduce learning out comes and cause behavioral issues. To this end, the acoustic environment, including moveable acoustic wall panels, are now regarded internationally as one of the prime considerations in the design of new classroom facilities.

Bildspec Operable Walls at St Clair Recreation and Leisure

St Clair Recreation and Leisure Centre caters for a wide range of sports and community uses. The centre comprises of a full-size basketball/ futsal court, a gymnastic hall, two dance studios and a meeting room.

The centre can cater for a range of sports and function bookings.

The centre was looking for a way to be able to divide their large function/meeting area into two smaller areas if needed, thereby allowing them to maximise the use of the area and run simultaneous functions or meetings for different customers.

Operable walls can provide different options at different times for the same venue, through effective space separation and controlling sound transmission and reverberation levels. Bildspec Operable Walls have an important part to play in improving the acoustic environment. These folding doors are often used to divide areas in clubs or community spaces needing to maximise their patronage at certain times in the day, as well as provide privacy when needed.

The builder, Westbury Constructions, decided to use a Bildspec Series 100 Rw50 Centre Stacking Operable Wall to achieve this objective. The acoustic walls contained fixed top sweep seals and bottom mechanical retracting seals to help achieve the acoustic brief. The panel face chosen was Impact Resistant Timber Look Foil “Modena Oak”, a functional material able to withstand heavy use.

Bildspec Operable Walls Complete an Education Rollout over April School Holiday Period

Ermington Public School recently completed an upgrade to their learning facilities. Bildspec was selected as the operable wall supplier of choice to supply acoustic moveable walls to this exciting project which completed in April 2021. This was done at the same time as completing operable wall projects for classrooms for schools at Rockdale, Hornsby, Lane Cove, Cambridge Park, Clemton Park, Cherrybrook and Pennant Hills. All done during the school holiday period to minimise disruption to students and teachers.

Bildspec take pride in being a part of upgrading existing educational buildings and creating attractive, open-plan spaces that are increasingly connected. The results are learning and activity spaces that flow one into the next, doing away with traditional rigid, isolated classrooms.

These walls used a product called Autex Composition, which not only comes in a vast number of colours, but also is pinnable and has great acoustic properties (NRC Vanlue of 0.4). This product is hard wearing and well suited to the classroom environment. The accompanying image shows what a difference adding a bit of colour makes to boost the senses, transforming the original dull grey wall to this new vivacious colour, called “Citrus”.

JLL’s Peter Braig says that office and workplace design needs to change to meet the needs of Australia’s rapidly evolving workforce preferences.

Bildspec Passes Stringent CSIRO Acoustic Testing Double glazed

Bildspec Operable Walls have recently performed testing on its suite of Double Glazed operable walls with the aim of determining what acoustic rating could be achieved from its frames, seals, glass types / interlayer densities, and overall construction methods. This testing was carried out in May 2021 at CSIRO’s acoustic testing facilities in Clayton, Victoria. Testing was in accordance with AS 1191

Using the combined knowledge of Bildspec’s staff (which equates to 100+ years of operable wall experience), Bildspec has been able to achieve some very strong results at the CSIRO. Testing in accordance with AS1191 requires the test wall to be opened and closed 10 times without intervention, to the seals or components before the test. This stringent form of test means the wall will perform better in the real world, compared to our competitors walls. Through many tests and trials we are now able to provide walls that are rated to 42Rw, 45Rw, 47Rw and 48Rw, in accordance to AS1191, all out of our 100 series walls.

Bildspec have developed lighter panels with higher ratings which results in panels that perform in the real world, they are not only lighter and easier to move, they are also highly competitive in the marketplace.

New Regional Project just completed

Bildspec Operable Walls recently completed another successful project for Telstra’s Head Office refurbishment in Bourke, NSW.

Our Series 100 operable walls ( click for more information) were successfully employed to divide a large space into a 14-seat boardroom as well as a separate lunch room. High-quality moveable walls with strong acoustic reduction properties have been used to maintain a quiet and confidential board room environment while noisy lunches take place right next door at the same time. Furthermore, when not required, these walls stack out of the way and transform the space into a large multi-use area suitable for larger meetings, gatherings and functions.

To provide Telstra with an easy to use experience in opening and closing their operable walls, the acoustic walls were configured to stack away to the side of the opening using a combination of our premium No1 track and Curves. Furthermore, these moveable acoustic walls incorporate two expander panels along with an “L” inset door to provide access into the boardroom while the wall is in place.

An aesthetically pleasing result was achieved by finishing the walls in attractive 9mm-thick Woven Image Muse Fluid – colour: 548 (Golden Eye). This fabric looks great but also complies with ISO 354-2006 and has an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) value of 0.30 – these properties ensure adequate absorption of sound to achieve the sound ratings that were required by Telstra.

Latest Project: Phillips Head Office

Bildspec Operable Walls continues to fulfill the highest individual needs of our many and various clients.

In this recently completed project at Phillips’ Head Office, Bildspec Operable Walls have used Woven Image Meridian material, in conjunction with Vitreous Enamel Magnetic Whiteboards to provide a second functional use for this room divider. The bottom panel is made from a hard wearing Laminex Laminate. What this achieves is a moving wall system with various secondary functions.

Woven Image Meridian is a 12mm thick sound absorbing material, with an NRC Value of 0.45. It is made of PET which is a 65% recycled material. The material contains grooves throughout the surface to alter sound waves and also gives it a unique and interesting look. The colour used in this wall is Meridian 365.

Bildspec also uses high quality Vitreous enamel whiteboards, which makes for a superior surface from which to erase pen marks. Other operable wall suppliers tend to use cheaper acrylic based products that mark/stain easily and are harder to clean in the long term.

The Laminex veneer used in this operable wall is hard wearing and a great surface to resist daily impact from both furniture and people - what a great result!

This testing was carried out in February 2020 at CSIRO’s acoustic testing facilities in Clayton, Victoria. Testing was in accordance with AS 1191.

Through consultation with PKA Acoustic Consultants and using the combined knowledge of Bildspec’s staff (which equates to 100+ years of operable wall experience), Bildspec has been able to achieve some very strong results at the CSIRO. Testing in accordance with AS1191 requires the test wall to be opened and closed 10 times without intervention, to the seals or components before the test. This stringent form of test means the wall will perform better in the real world, compared to our competitors walls. Bildspec have worked closely with PKA Acoustic Consulting in the R&D work that has gone into the construction of our operable walls. PKA Acoustic Consulting commenced operation, as Peter R Knowland & Associates, in 1968. From then until the present, the firm has handled well over 8000 acoustic projects spanning a wide spectrum of the boundaries of acoustic consulting.

The skills of this practice are widespread extending from domestic air conditioning to industrial noise, environmental noise control and complex vibration isolation solutions.

Stylish, Functional Operable Walls for Warner Music

Bildspec was recently engaged to provide operable walls at Warner Music’s new Head Office in Pyrmont, Sydney

Warner Music are one of the largest record labels in the global music industry, and it was imperative that the performance and aesthetics of our product supported their culture and image.

Warner Music wanted to be able to use moveable walls to easily reconfigure the room, thereby creating a flexible, modern and open space which could be used as an informal area to enable their staff to relax away from their busy open-plan work area. Furthermore, the wall would enable them, when required, to create a performance space for live bands coinciding with soft launches of new albums or showcasing new musical talent.

High acoustic performance was an important part of the design brief and retractable bottom seals were utilised to overcome reverberation issues caused by the new polished concrete floors. Aesthetically, the walls needed to appeal to a young, artistic, high-functioning demographic.

The project was a big success. Bildspec supplied a high-acoustic functioning product which looked the part. The walls allow very little transfer of sound between the relevant spaces, and have thus totally transformed their work area.
